Carrickmacross Credit Union has been part of the fabric of our town and hinterland since its foundation in 1963.
The growth of this Credit Union has been phenomenal. The first financial year we had 184 members, £842 in savings and £438 in loans.
Where We Stand Today
Today we have a membership in excess of 12,000 and boast assets of over €108m, Investments of €92m, shares of €83m, loans of over €15m and reserves of 22%.
The Credit Union operating principles are founded in the philosophy of co-operation and its central value of equality and mutual self-help. Our mission here in Carrickmacross is to provide the highest level of personal financial services, in a friendly, professional manner, to encourage thrift, savings and the wise use of credit. We are dedicated to serving the member’s best interest, to provide value relative to cost and to earn their trust and confidence by operating in an ethical and financially sound manner.
Carrickmacross Credit Union is committed to making a positive difference in the financial lives of our members and potential members in the community we serve. We want to be the financial institution that our members choose first, use the most, and grow with throughout their lives. Services to our members shall be of paramount importance rather than toward the maximising of surpluses. Feedback from our members is important to us as it allows us respond to your needs and improve the products and services we offer to you. However we do recognise that on occasion, things can go wrong and you may as a result encounter difficulty with some aspect of our service or products. If and when this happens, we would like you to tell us about your experience.
You can contact us directly by phone on 042 9661937 or write to us directly. It is our aim to resolve and respond to your complaint as quickly as possible. In this respect your complaint will be fully investigated by us and if it is not resolved to your satisfaction within 5 business days, a written response will be provided to you. If your complaint requires further investigation, we will provide you with an update, the details of the person who is responsible for resolving your complaint and the anticipated time-frame for resolution.
In the event that you unhappy with the outcome of our investigation and the final response as provided to you, you may refer your complaint to the Financial Services Ombudsman:
